IPC focus on a very wide range of magazines intended for
different age groups, genders and classes. They also own both niche and mass
market magazines which made them the second largest magazine publisher in 2008.
They publish magazines like NME, Chat, House and Hound, Teen Now, Yachting and
Nuts. From this small sample you can see that they have a magazine for
everyone.
Bauer Media
Bauer are very similar to IPC in the sense that they have a
very wide range of magazines on offer. Their publishing ranges from Heat to
Match to Golf to Kerrang! to Country Walking. They were the largest magazine
publishers in 2008 because of the focus in magazines whose target audience
ranges in class, gender and age and the range in niche and mass market
magazines.
Future PLC
Future PLC mainly concentrate on magazine aimed at the male
target audience, but still ranging in age, class, niche and mass market
magazines. They publish magazines like Cycling, T3, Nintendo and Guitarist.
Conde Nast
Conde Nast mainly focus on magazines with the target
audience of middle-class women, representing magazines such as Vogue, Tatler
and Glamour. These magazines are all aimed at the middle-class woman and they
rarely branch from this.
